Another away victory and another three points. Whilst it rained viciously at White Hart Lane, it seems a rainbow has been set over Anfield. Liverpool had to make up with the rain, which in a way had added up to the spectacle, but the sight of the rainbow, and the well earned three points makes it all worth while.

I am really made up with these three points especially considering Spurs home form. Liverpool started the match quite well, with Bellamy leading the line pretty well and being more than handful for the Spurs defenders. I am really warming up to this lad. I was rather feeling different to him before, looked to me more intent of mouthing off than anything else, but now he seems to be brimming with confidence, a tireless worker and really intent to make it happen. Together with his confidence, he seems to have refound his coolness infront of goal, and even though being a natural striker he has an unselfish side to him especially towards Kuyt, his pass to him in the first half whilst in the penalty area being a prime example.
Shortly after being subbed on Boxing Day at Ewood Park, I spotted him on his feet geeing the lads up which I think is pretty unusual when usually the subs are just watching rather bored.

Garcia's goal owed more to persistence rather than brilliance, and the scorer was another one who had a pretty good game after being off colour for most of the season so far. Yesterday for a start, his passes mostly found a red shirt!

Special mention has got to go to the back four especially the central pairing. They worked the offside trap to perfection, frustrating mostly Defoe in the process and like two rocks they just repelled anything thrown back to them. We all know what Carragher is capable of and he was my man of the match, but Agger deserves the plaudits too. He is forging a really good partnership with Carragher and have now oust Hyypia from the starting team sheet. While so far he is not as solid as Carragher, I would suggest he is more refined and reminds me of the loyal Finn.

All in all another well earned three points, which confirm that the travel sickness has now abated. 2006 has confirmed Anfield as a fortress. 2007 should only re-confirm it, starting with a victory over Allardyce's Bolton.

I have meant to start this blog since I first discovered blogs, but for some reason or another, mostly lack of incentive, willingness and confidence I never started. On Boxing Day before the match, I had a day off work being a bank holiday and all that, but rather than enjoying a bit of the sunshine that my island can offer even in this time of the year, I spent it mostly on the net whilst also playing the quite good Guillemots 'Through the Windowpane' in the background. I promised myself to start a blog and test myself more in the writing department, whilst also expressing myself more on this big love I got since sometimes to be honest words elude me in the pub, or rather more at the club, which is the place where I get to watch every Liverpool match. I thought come seven o'clock after the match, made up after another clean sheet, Bellamy's first hat-trick, the prolonged winning run and the customary three points I will start the adventure. But cyberspace waited and waited in vain, as after leaving our club at eightish after a few bevies, I directed myself into the bed rather than on my chair in front of my pc.

In a way I am seeing this a bit of a challenge, I don't know how prolific I will be, but I am promising myself to do the very best, I have never kept a diary and this is my closest shot to that.

So, the clean sheet run was broken, Bellamy's hat-trick never arrived, and rather than a well earned three points, we got sweet fa. Where's me Prozac when you need it?

It felt like this for some where I was watching the match. Fingers seemed to be pointing through here and there but to be honest I felt different. Obviously, I was far less than made up. Blackburn were there for the taking, and I think the lads there didn't disappoint. Liverpool attacked and attacked and during the first half I was thinking of my first blog being 'Liverpool slicking their way past sad Rovers'. Unfortunately it was not to be. You can blame lack of killer instinct, carelessness, lack of urgency, great goalkeeping or bad luck. Personally I would go for a mixture of them all.

Seeing the table this morning does not make easy reading. Bolton and Portsmouth ahead of the mighty reds is an eye sore. But I am not too dishearten. I was thinking that the twelve points are a real possibility and was beginning to convince myself that we are not really challenging for the title because of a poor start which in hindsight is only expected given the new faces and the diabolical fixture list.

Sadly, I am less convinced today and there is a certain something which is lacking in the redmen. That little difference between nearly men and men, very good and great, ecstasy and nirvana.

Tottenham at White Hart Lane should teach us more about our side. I believe that after everything so far by achieving the third place, this squad would have reached its maximum potential. Being Liverpool, with the ethos Shankly has left, it is hard to grasp, but the cold reality and above all the faith in Rafael Benitez makes it much easier to accept it. And rather gladly too.

The dream goes on.
